Methodology

How providers are evaluated

Our framework is designed to help merchants sort providers by operational fit rather than generic feature lists or sales-driven positioning.

Step 1

Fit before popularity

We start with operational fit: order volume, product handling complexity, channel mix, geography, and service expectations. A recognizable brand is not automatically the right recommendation.

Step 2

Service model matters

Generalist and specialized 3PLs solve different problems. We distinguish between mainstream ecommerce fulfillment and high-accountability environments like heavy, bulky, fragile, or operationally complex products.

Step 3

Quotes are interpreted, not copied

3PL pricing is contextual. We compare pricing structure, likely cost drivers, and the conditions attached to a quote instead of treating top-line quote language as directly comparable across every provider.

Step 4

Referrals stay human-reviewed

The onsite intake helps structure information, but the final referral path is reviewed by a human. Internal scoring supports that process; it does not replace operator judgment.
