TikTok Shop processes an estimated 300 million U.S. orders a year

TikTok Shop moved an estimated 300 million orders in the United States in 2025, roughly 800,000 a day, on about $15.5 billion in U.S. gross merchandise value (GMV), according to figures compiled from Momentum Commerce tracking and U.S. Census buyer data. TikTok publishes no official order count, so this figure is an estimate we derived rather than a number the platform reports.

Globally the platform is far larger. TikTok Shop reported roughly $64.3 billion in GMV for 2025, nearly double its 2024 total. Average order value differs so sharply between markets that the worldwide order count runs comfortably into the billions but resists a single clean figure, which is why journalists and analysts quote such different numbers.

How analysts turn GMV into an order count

TikTok discloses GMV, not orders. Everyone quoting an order number is doing the same arithmetic: divide GMV by the average order value. The answer depends entirely on which AOV you trust, and credible U.S. estimates range from $35 to $59.

MethodWhat it uses2025 U.S. result
GMV ÷ low AOV$15.5B ÷ $35 (median)~443 million orders
GMV ÷ high AOV$15.5B ÷ $59 (survey)~263 million orders
Buyers × frequency53.2M buyers × 5.3 orders~282 million orders
Methodology note
Every order figure here is GMV divided by average order value.

TikTok reports gross merchandise value, not an order count. To get orders, you divide GMV by the average order value (AOV). Change the AOV assumption and the order count moves with it, which is why we show a range rather than a single hard number.

The three methods bracket a central estimate near 300 million U.S. orders. We lead with that figure because two independent approaches, dividing revenue by price and multiplying buyers by frequency, land in nearly the same place.

Cross-check
Two independent methods land in the same place.

Dividing $15.5B in U.S. GMV by a $35-$59 order value gives 263-443 million orders. Multiplying 53.2 million U.S. buyers by 5.3 orders each gives 282 million. Both routes converge near 300 million U.S. orders for 2025, which is why we lead with that number.

The order math, method by method

The chart below shows how each approach lands. The spread between them, 263 million to 443 million, traces entirely to the order-value assumption. It says nothing about disagreement over how much TikTok Shop sold.

How TikTok Shop's volume has grown

Order volume tracks GMV, and GMV has roughly doubled two years running. Global GMV climbed from $16.3 billion in 2023 to $33.2 billion in 2024 to $64.3 billion in 2025. U.S. GMV nearly doubled over the same window, from $8.5 billion in 2024 to about $15.5 billion in 2025.

Handle global with care
A global order count is a wide range.

Average order value swings roughly 10x by region, from about $5 in Indonesia to $35-$59 in the U.S. The same $64.3B in global GMV therefore implies anywhere from 2 to 3 billion orders depending on the market mix. Treat 'well over a billion orders a year' as the safe claim.

Common questions about TikTok Shop order volume

How many orders does TikTok Shop get per day?

In the United States, an estimated 800,000 orders a day in 2025 — the annual estimate of roughly 300 million divided across 365 days. The plausible daily range is about 720,000 to 1.2 million, mirroring the range in the annual estimate.

How many orders does TikTok Shop process per year?

Around 300 million in the U.S. for 2025, within a defensible range of 263 to 443 million. Worldwide the figure is far higher, plausibly 2 to 3 billion orders, though a precise global count is not possible from public data.

Does TikTok publish its order count?

No. TikTok reports GMV (total sales value), not the number of orders. Every order figure in circulation, including this one, is derived by dividing GMV by an estimated average order value.

What is the average order value on TikTok Shop?

In the U.S., estimates range from a $35 median (Red Stag Fulfillment) to $59 in survey data (PartnerCentric). Order values are much lower in Southeast Asia, closer to $5-$25, which is why global order estimates are so wide.

How much did TikTok Shop sell in 2025?

Roughly $64.3 billion in global GMV and about $15.5 billion in the U.S., per Momentum Commerce tracking, nearly double the 2024 totals.

How many people buy on TikTok Shop?

About 53.2 million U.S. buyers in 2025, up from 47.2 million in 2024 (U.S. Census data via ElectroIQ). The average U.S. buyer placed about 5.3 orders over the year.

What the number actually tells you

The honest headline is that TikTok Shop processes on the order of 300 million U.S. orders a year, near 800,000 a day, and well over a billion worldwide. Anyone quoting a tidier, more precise figure is hiding the assumption underneath it: TikTok publishes sales value, not order counts, so the answer is only ever as good as the average-order-value input.

For operators, the takeaway is the daily cadence, not the annual headline. Hundreds of thousands of U.S. parcels a day, at a $35-$59 order value, means high-volume, low-ticket fulfillment where pick-pack speed and shipping cost per order decide whether the channel is profitable. For anyone citing the number, quote the range and name the method; that is the figure that holds up.

How we built this

We started from GMV, the only figure TikTok reports, using Momentum Commerce's 2023-2025 estimates for global and U.S. GMV. Momentum's 2025 U.S. GMV falls between $15.1 billion and $15.8 billion depending on the tally; we use about $15.5 billion as the midpoint. We converted GMV to orders two ways: dividing U.S. GMV by a $35-$59 average order value, and multiplying U.S. buyer counts (U.S. Census via ElectroIQ) by an average purchase frequency of 5.3 orders per year (Red Stag Fulfillment). The two methods converge near 300 million U.S. orders for 2025, which we report as the central estimate inside a 263-443 million range. Global order counts are left as a caveated range because average order value varies roughly tenfold across TikTok Shop's markets. All order figures are 3PL Insider estimates; only GMV and buyer counts come directly from the cited sources.
